Please note the next Wine tasting and offering of wines for sale at special prices will be this coming Thursday July 29th, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, at 2nd Floor Archa Café and Wine Bar 4/1 Sukhumvit Soi 26 (10 meters from the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 26, 150 meters from the Phromphong BTS).
Price will be 400 baht per head including some light snacks.

Two hours free flow of 4 Aussie wines with snacks. Clock starts when you arrive normal price 600 baht, member price 500 baht.
Also wines from last Thursday tasting still available for sale. Look out for the DB Petit Syrah (645 baht) and the Sensi DOCG Chianti (1,290 baht for a Magnum – 1,500 ml). Both excellent wines and great value for the price.
Archa Café is located 10 meters from the corner of Sukhumvit Road and Sukhumvit soi 26. 150 meters from the Phromphong BTS. Parking available in the lemon petrol station opposite.

We realize this may be short notice for many of you, but we will be holding a wine tasting at the Archa Wine Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 26 from 6pm to 8pm this Thursday, 24 June 2010.
Admission is THB 400 per person and allows you to sample the 6 wines that will be made available. Snacks will be provided by Archa. In addition, members and guests can purchase the wines during the event at a 15% discount.
Choosing the Right Wine

Hello all members of the Bangkok Wine Society. I am very much a “Wine Newbie” when it comes to wines. What I know you could write on the back of a postage stamp.
But, since I am a part of the Bangkok Wine Society, I thought it wise to learn a little bit about wines. This way, I can sound a little more knowledgeable at our next wine tasting event.

The next Wine Tasting Event will be at the Parrot Bistro on Sukhumvit Soi 16, on April 22 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The location is near Foodlands on the side soi.
Admission is 350 THB per person. Discounted De Bortoli boxed wines and the new Moute premium selection from the US will be available to members.

We are pleased to announce are next Wine tasting event for the month of November.
On November 5th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the Sportsman Bar & Restaurant will be hosting the event along with Wilding Golf and Performance Center.
We are very excited to be offering wines from the Village Farm Winery where they will be launching the 2009 Vintage Rose.
Entry fee is THB 350 per person which gives you the opportunity to sample our wines and some great food from The Sportsman. In addition, Wilding Golf experts will be on hand to demonstrate their latest high tech training equipment.

Premium Reserve Cabernet Merlot
This Cabernet Merlot is a rich, lifted wine made from Australian fruit at our Bilbul winery. Aromas of plum and spice combined with the natural flavours of ripe berry fruit with hints of vanillin oak provide good length and depth of flavor. Firm tannins provide additional structure to the wine.
Made for immediate enjoyment, this wine is an ideal accompaniment to roast lamb or beef.
Premium Reserve Shiraz
Our Premium Reserve Shiraz is a medium bodied red wine with ripe plum and berry flavors balanced by soft spicy oak and gentle tannins. It’s a wine with complexity and length.

This month’s wine tasting will be held this coming Thursday 25th June 2009 at Dana Caron’s Roadhouse Barbecue on the corner of Suriwong and Rama IV roads. The Roadhouse is located within easy walking distance of both the MRT Silom and BTS Saladaeng stations and we are sure Dana will put on a great selection of his famous food and hospitality for us all.
The wines this month will be themed on Australia and we will be tasting a selection out of Magnums with a special guest appearance by Merrydown cider. Bottles of all the wines will also be on sale or for order on the day.
